Temporary Footbridge Installed at Dorney Lake
Temporary footbridge over the River Thames between the Eton Dorney rowing lake and the Windsor Racecourse for the London 2012 Olympics. The footbridge consists of two three-span bridges each 63m in length and 6m wide. The central spans and Windsor side spans of both bridges were lifted in by a 500 tonne crane, with 165 tonnes of counterbalance from Windsor Racecourse on Tuesday 21st February. The final two end spans on the Dorney lake side were installed two days later using a smaller 200 tonne crane.
